~Good Morning zesty!
Feeling so blissfully content. I have things to take care of, but I'm not letting it get to me, or at least making sure the buffer between me and the world is quite thick. People are nuts. And I should just smile and let things go.

FOODs

1) Papayas
Well known for its digestive benefits, Papayas do more than just easing constipation; they also supply us with beta-carotene, flavonoids, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. These are all essential to ensuring our skin stays hydrated and young.
2) Sprouts
“A Serving of Sprouts a day, makes me a Superman every day!”
Sprouts are simply germinated seeds/pulses that are ready to grow into a big strong plant. In other words, they contain super amounts of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes etc, which are all easily digested by us when we eat them. If there is one type of sprout to include regularly, it is the Alfafa - which I call the King of Sprouts. Alfafa has the ability to pull out certain trace elements deep within the cores of Earth that are otherwise unavailable to us.
3) Avocados
Most of my readers are astonished the first time they stepped into my apartment, to find a basketful of green Avocados always at my “Fruit Altar”. And in each of my Intro to Living Foods Training Workshops, I always encourage participants to include Avocados as often as possible in the diet.
These oval shaped gems are full of sulphur, Vitamin E and potassium - which are important for building and maintaining healthy skin. They are so versatile that we can make a hundred different recipes in combination with other different living foods. For beginners, you may simply sprinkle a little sea salt and use as a dip, or just eat it as it is!
4) Herbs/Greens
My nickname is “Green Smoothie Monster”! This is one of my secrets to having youthful, radiant and supple skin.
Actually, holding other things constant, if there is just one thing you can add into your diet, I strongly encourage you to have a Green Smoothie a day. Greens contain chlorophyll, minerals and precious oxygen. It is liquefied sunlight which every human body need to stay healthy and emotionally balanced. When we drink Green Smoothies everyday, our skin gets super hydrated with goodness from fruits and super boosted with oxygen and liquefied sunlight!
5) Cacao
Ever heard the saying that “Chocolate makes a woman sensual”? Studies have shown that women who consume chocolate are found to be more attractive! Chocolate contains powerful anti-oxidants to reverse aging, high levels of anandamide (love chemical) and also incredible levels of magnesium - essential for healthy hair, eyes and nails.
Raw Cacao is also known to make our skin more resilient to UV damage, freckles and harsh environmental pollution.
6) Olives
This is one of the most nutrient dense fruit, which existed long before we did! Generous in calcium and Omegas, Olives are vital in mending damaged skin, re-hydrating dryness and banishing wrinkles.
For the best options, choose the plain ones (or marinated in a little sea salt) over canned varieties.
7) Pumpkin Seeds
If you want skin that is anti-aging and self-regenerative, make these your best friends! I always make sure to have a ready sprouted and dehydrated stash of pumpkin seeds on my kitchen top. What’s more, they make a handy snack and also great to sprinkle over salads!
Pumpkin seeds are rich in manganese, zinc, magnesium, B vitamins and Omegas – perfect for balancing hormones and supporting healthy brain function. Pumpkin seeds have been proven to help balance emotions to prepare for a deeper sleep, if eaten in the evenings.

melting in the winter wonderland...

I'm in our cave with Bear,
having him cook for me..while I'm typing this…
thank you universe, this is what I've always dreamed of..
who knew…I'm a lucky pig.
It is snowing.
We came home together, I was pondering doing snow-angels for about a minute.
I took a long, hot, steamy shower, enjoying my aromatheraputic skin products.
I feel safe.
xoxo

Feeling inspired,
found a blog of a girl that loves the same things I love AND has a knack for crafts, AND has a beautiful dog on top of it AND lives in Chicago! <--there is no excuse now, baby.
You better get your ducks together.
About to go with Bear to have some good comfort food at a neighborhood place.
Duck confit, here I come!!

cheers

the master does his job
and then stops.
he understands that the universe
is forever out of control,
and that trying to dominate events
goes against the current of the tao.
because he believes in himself,
he doesn't try to convince others.
because he is content with himself,
he doesn't need others' approval.
because he accepts himself,
the whole world accepts him

even numbered year

arctic it is not.
this year feels so different so far,
things like to flow somehow.
i like to just sit and observe
rather than smack things around.
i like who i'm becoming
i'm a late bloomer i guess.
embrace thyself.

Bon Voyage*

Im celebrating the beginning of a New Year at home, in the cave Bear and I share. We have food, drink, entertainment, new bathroom accessories :)
It's been a busy 12 months, but such is life. One thing I learn is that one cannot have control over what happens. We go through life trying to figure out how to de-stress from it, but shit, trying to be a sensible World inhabitant is a full time job ..In other words, a manual of sorts would seem like  a worthy gift:
Yeah Dave's Guide to Livin' the Moment: Getting to Ecstasy Through Wine, Chocolate and Your iPod Playlist might be something to check out. I haven't done it myself yet..
Spend time on yourself. On self development. On your own wellbeing.
           Cheers, I love blogging*

nåd är det enda sättet att gå

For the last six months
I have been meeting extraordinary women..
very grateful for that. At work, meetings, a friend of a friend, wholesome women all around me!

It's very inspiring I must say. Inspired to be a good friend and listener, I regain control over myself again. Both feet on the ground, I am ready to be of help.
Oprah would be proud ;)
I never flew a kite. I wanna do that before my time is up.
I was invited to a potluck on Friday :)

12.25.2011 merry

This disease is indeed cunning, baffling, and powerful. I thought Christmas would be a piece of cake now that I've been dealing with issues head-on. But the minute I tell myself that "I got this" that's when things start slipping away. To be knowing of my disease is to never underestimate it.
I'm looking for an online drawing tool so I can go back to making my own pictures.
NO New Year's resolutions yet, apart from keeping sane and sober. I always want to be comfortable in my own skin, because that feeling of inadequacy is so fucking tired. I don't ever want to go there again. I ask HIM to help me, to do what he has planned for me.

9:26pm

Washed the day off, it's been a hell of a day.
It seemed to have different layers and textures.
Exhausted by the variety of emotions felt today,
and with great intensity.
The Entity upstairs never ceases to amaze me.
I can only smile.
What a lucky gal I am!

journaling i guess #1

Been trying to have these separate and elaborate posts, feeling so proud of myself. But lately my curiosity about every single thing became a big, fat pile of information, important and otherwise. So i'm going to bullet point quick reference words:

  • I've developed a curiosity about the war in Vietnam after seeing "Platoon" for the first time. Charlie Sheen is so captivating in it  tee hee
  • Promising myself to take more pictures of my closest surroundings, Bear, and the girls, the stable times.
  • I like my surroundings, my story, my self
  • Work's not stressful, it's pretty manageable
  • Mad Men
  • www.chicagofloatationtanks.com
  • Adam and I took our couples' cooking class last weekend
  • I'm trying diligently, every day to be present and patient
And yes, the reason why there is a number in the subject of that post is because my memory's really good just as much as it is short. Cin cin ! *

*  currently sipping on hot chocolate. baby it's cold outside!

CHARACTER BUILDING

demands made upon other people
for too much attention, protection, and love
can only invite domination or revulsion..

***
Today I still enjoy getting the approval of others,
but I am not willing to pay the price I used to
pay to get it.
I will not bend myself into a pretzel to get
others to like me.
If I get your approval, that's fine,
but if I don't, I will survive without it.
I am responsible for speaking what
I perceive to be the truth,
not what I think others may want to hear.
Similarly, my false pride always kept me
overly concerned about my reputation.
Since being enlightened in the A.A. program,
my aim is to improve my character.
