FOODs

1) Papayas
Well known for its digestive benefits, Papayas do more than just easing constipation; they also supply us with beta-carotene, flavonoids, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. These are all essential to ensuring our skin stays hydrated and young.
2) Sprouts
“A Serving of Sprouts a day, makes me a Superman every day!”
Sprouts are simply germinated seeds/pulses that are ready to grow into a big strong plant. In other words, they contain super amounts of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes etc, which are all easily digested by us when we eat them. If there is one type of sprout to include regularly, it is the Alfafa - which I call the King of Sprouts. Alfafa has the ability to pull out certain trace elements deep within the cores of Earth that are otherwise unavailable to us.
3) Avocados
Most of my readers are astonished the first time they stepped into my apartment, to find a basketful of green Avocados always at my “Fruit Altar”. And in each of my Intro to Living Foods Training Workshops, I always encourage participants to include Avocados as often as possible in the diet.
These oval shaped gems are full of sulphur, Vitamin E and potassium - which are important for building and maintaining healthy skin. They are so versatile that we can make a hundred different recipes in combination with other different living foods. For beginners, you may simply sprinkle a little sea salt and use as a dip, or just eat it as it is!
4) Herbs/Greens
My nickname is “Green Smoothie Monster”! This is one of my secrets to having youthful, radiant and supple skin.
Actually, holding other things constant, if there is just one thing you can add into your diet, I strongly encourage you to have a Green Smoothie a day. Greens contain chlorophyll, minerals and precious oxygen. It is liquefied sunlight which every human body need to stay healthy and emotionally balanced. When we drink Green Smoothies everyday, our skin gets super hydrated with goodness from fruits and super boosted with oxygen and liquefied sunlight!
5) Cacao
Ever heard the saying that “Chocolate makes a woman sensual”? Studies have shown that women who consume chocolate are found to be more attractive! Chocolate contains powerful anti-oxidants to reverse aging, high levels of anandamide (love chemical) and also incredible levels of magnesium - essential for healthy hair, eyes and nails.
Raw Cacao is also known to make our skin more resilient to UV damage, freckles and harsh environmental pollution.
6) Olives
This is one of the most nutrient dense fruit, which existed long before we did! Generous in calcium and Omegas, Olives are vital in mending damaged skin, re-hydrating dryness and banishing wrinkles.
For the best options, choose the plain ones (or marinated in a little sea salt) over canned varieties.
7) Pumpkin Seeds
If you want skin that is anti-aging and self-regenerative, make these your best friends! I always make sure to have a ready sprouted and dehydrated stash of pumpkin seeds on my kitchen top. What’s more, they make a handy snack and also great to sprinkle over salads!
Pumpkin seeds are rich in manganese, zinc, magnesium, B vitamins and Omegas – perfect for balancing hormones and supporting healthy brain function. Pumpkin seeds have been proven to help balance emotions to prepare for a deeper sleep, if eaten in the evenings.
